Traci holds a Masters Degree in Applied Behavioural Sciences (Systems Counselling) from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington (1995) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Youth Care from the University of Victoria (1990).
Post graduate studies and ongoing professional development include:
- Member, BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC)
- Clinical Member, American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AMFT)
- EMDR training (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) for treatment of trauma, depression, anxiety and other emotional and behavioural issues.
- Emotionally-focussed therapy (EFT)
Traci started her career in 1988 as a Child and Youth Care Worker in Victoria on an in-patient psychiatric ward at Jack Ledger House (Queen Alexandra Centre for Children’s Health). In 1992, she began counselling at-risk youth and adolescents and their families in the local high school system. From 1994 until 2006, she was a clinician on a multi-disciplinary child and youth mental health team in Victoria. This team provides services to children, youth and their families on behalf of the provincial Ministry of Children and Family Development.
In 2006, Traci left the provincial Ministry to devote her professional efforts to private practice work.
